Job Description

A Nurse Clinician provides advanced nursing care, oversees clinical standards, mentors junior nurses, and contributes to quality improvement initiatives across the department. The role requires strong clinical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced clinical assessments and nursing care for patients in assigned specialty areas.

  • Serve as a clinical expert and resource person to nursing teams.

  • Mentor, precept, and supervise staff nurses and junior clinicians.

  • Develop, review, and implement evidence-based nursing protocols and best practices.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate with doctors, therapists, and allied health teams.

  • Lead or support quality improvement projects, audits, and clinical risk management initiatives.

  • Oversee documentation, patient safety standards, and clinical governance processes.

  • Assist with competency training, continuing education, and skills development for nursing staff.

  • Support operational planning, workflow improvements, and workload allocation.

  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory guidelines, and accreditation standards.


Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with the local Nursing Board.

  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent (Master’s in Nursing is an advantage but not always required).

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably with supervisory exposure.

  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and patient management skills.

  • Proven ability to lead teams, mentor staff, and uphold clinical excellence.

  • Strong communication and coordination abilities in multidisciplinary settings.

  • Training or certification in specialty areas (ICU, ED, oncology, surgery, cardiology, etc.) is an advantage.
